The Rest Revolution - Voices From the Front Lines
This is a special series of the podcast focused on my new book, The Rest Revolution: How to Reclaim Your Rhythm and Conquer Burnout When Overworking Has Become the Norm, which comes out on November 13th.
I’m thrilled to share this book with you because I believe it’s my most important work yet. In The Rest Revolution, I explore how we’ve been conditioned to treat ourselves like machines and how this mindset leads to burnout, exhaustion, and a disconnection from our true selves.
The Rest Revolution isn’t just about rest; it’s about the great realignment that is happening in this country. People are slowly waking up to the idea that good lives require more than work and achievement. Good lives require you getting in alignment with the purposeful work, key relationships, and energizing activities that are most important to you.
I interview high achieving professionals, psychologists, sociologists, and medical experts on how we can you can reclaim your humanity, find more balance, and choose to live and work in a way that truly aligns with your purpose. It’s about breaking free from the toxic cycle of overwork and finding a new, sustainable way forward. If you’ve ever felt like you’re running on fumes or just going through the motions, this book is for you.
If you love this podcast, I know you’ll love the book. The Rest Revolution will be available on November 12th from all major booksellers, and you can visit www.therestrevolutionbook.com to preorder your copy now. I can’t wait for you to read it.

[Ep. 48] Are you operating like the GLOBAL BRAND that you are?
Sunday Jan 28, 2018
Sunday Jan 28, 2018
Like it or not, you are a GLOBAL brand.
But are you operating like the global brand that you are? Do you have products, services and programs available to cater to a global audience? Long gone are the days when you could focus solely on your geographic region. In today's global economy you're leaving money on the table if you're not making SOMETHING available for sale to a worldwide audience.

[Ep. 46] I help a seasoned marketing exec position herself for a new job search after 50

http://www.amandamillerlittlejohn.com On this episode I help a seasoned marketing executive understand how to market herself for a role that values her experience position herself for new career search after 50
Barbara Miller spent 25 year career at one company and in a sense felt like she grew up in the company. With over 25 years of professional experience, she's now interviewing externally for the first time in over 20 years.
The job search landscape has changed - with digital tools, social media, linkedin being the main pathways to finding a new job. Barbara's also found herself competing with the growing millennial audience of talent.
But her skills are formidable. She has experience building networks, managing earned owned and paid media campaigns, retail execution, experiential marketing, digital marketing, content marketing and e-commerce.
She's looking for a senior marketing leader position like a senior VP or Chief Marketing Officer that utilizes her strengths of people management, coaching, transformational leadership, and change management.
I shared a few key ideas with Barbara for her career search, namely:
1. Know your values, work style and your deal breakers
2. Understand what type of companies align with those values
3. Uncover the profile of the company that suits your skills and working style - size, revenue, culture, industry
4. Create a list of target companies that fit that profile
5. Be intentional with your search
6. Create clear case studies of your work
7. Create a thought leadership campaign on Linkedin to share solutions for problems plaguing your target company

http://www.amandamillerlittlejohn.com Have you ever hesitated to reach out to an old friend or colleague because you felt guilty for falling out of touch? Or maybe you wondered if the person would remember you, or care to connect at all after "all this time"?
I've personally been in that position and I've also watched clients struggle to put themselves out there and make the first move to re-engage old colleagues even online. But a recent trip to Tennessee reminded me just how quickly you can break those old relationships back in, and how often our fears around reaching out and being potentially rejected are unfounded.
If you haven't gotten around to reaching out to an old contact, be encouraged that it's not as awkward as you may fear it to be. More often than not, your old connections will be thrilled to hear from you, and glad you got the communication ball rolling again.
